不論東西方居家文化中，花瓶都占有了很重要的地位。東方花藝所注重的是雅，將微型世界觀帶入花草之中，即使是枯木斷石，也是代表了自然世界的一種禪意。而西方花藝主推浪漫，繁盛以及具生命的爆發力。注重重現野外風情：像是花園中的一個角落，或是盛夏阿爾卑斯山下的雛菊花海。

上下花器，抽離了傳統的花器原本應有的容量，只剩下線性組織的輪廓，讓東西方傳統花瓶的文化意像模糊。藉由改變盛水容器的位置來改變物件的文化意像：放置於框架之上時，花草可以是自由舒展如同西方世界文化價值一般，外放寬闊。而將盛水容器移到下方時：所看到的會是一種微型的世界外框骨架如同三度象限，將綠意圍繞。 一個信手捻來的容器，隨意地擺置或上或下，提供不同植物發揮的最佳狀態。訴說著一個東方西方不同世界觀的故事。

關於臺灣柒木
