日本著名家具公司 Karimoku 於1940年創立至今已有70多年歷史，具有精緻純熟的家具製作技術，以期望每件家具都能達到長久耐用的高品質標準，符合 karimoku 品牌的永續理念。同時 Karimoku 一直不斷研發新系列商品，將經典耐看的家具帶給每一個人，這樣不斷創新的精神，也奠定了 Karimoku 在設計家具界的領導地位。2009年，日本當紅的設計師 Teruhiro Yanagihara 出任 Karimoku New Standard 系列創意總監，負責新系列 New Standard 的設計開發。New Standard 最重要的精神是 Karimoku 家具公司為家具訂立的新標準，透過不斷創新，希望提供更接近二十一世紀講求速度和效率的現代都會生活家具。在多國新世代設計師共同腦力激盪，開發出新穎簡約的設計家具，但支撐新穎外表下的仍是歷久不變的核心，楓木、橡木、栗木⋯⋯等日本硬質實心木材。同時 New standard 的信念是透過設計、保護和振興日本森林，恢復與當地森林產業的平衡，使自然資源能夠更加有效地利用進行生產，縮減生產的步驟，以減少資源的浪費與碳排放，讓木質家具融入家庭生活中，永續木材的生命。

【木材與原料】

KARIMOKU NEW STANDARD的產品，積極採用這些日本國產的楓樹、栗樹、日本橡樹等闊葉樹。對木材特性瞭如指掌的karimoku將這些相異之處，木紋、花色、木節等視為天然素材的特色加以採用，使其蛻變成高品質的家具，刻劃在其生命中充滿特色的樣貌與質感，值得細細品味。
